HALF STEP BETWEEN WORK AND HOLIDAYS

Estamos a medias a medio verano y eso merece un desayuno fresco y revitalizador: Zumo de fruta (Manzana, zanahoria, naranja y limón), bol de yogur con frutas y tostada con recula y huevos Benedict. Ir a medio gas no es excusa para no cuidarse.

We are halfway through the summer and that deserves a fresh & revitalizing breakfast: fruit juice (apple, carrot, orange & lemon), bowl of yogurt with fruit and toast with recula & eggs Benedict. Going to half gas is no excuse for not taking care of yourself.

Trabajar en verano es igual que cuando vas a tirarte a la piscina y primero metes los dedos de un pie para medir la temperatura. Quizás te zambullas, quizás no. Estamos en esa época de ir a medio gas, de sobrevivir al calor infernal en la calle y resfriarse con las neveras que crean los aires acondicionados, de media oficina llena, o medio vacía, de un miércoles de duro trabajo seguido de un after hour en una terraza o, si eres afortunada, en un chiringuito frente al mar.

Working in summer is the same as when you go to dive into the pool and first dip your toes in to measure the temperature. Maybe you dive in, maybe not. It's that time of the year when you go half-cycled, of surviving the infernal heat in the street and catching a cold from the coolers created by air conditioners, of a half-full or half-empty office, of a Wednesday of hard work followed by an after hour on a terrace or, if you are lucky, in a beach bar in front of the sea.
