L’APERITIVO

Dear croissant, today you are invited to an aperitivo instead of breakfast. And you might wonder, what exactly is an Aperitivo? In Spain, the aperitivo consists of pre-lunch or pre-dinner snacks: chips, olives, cold cuts, and/or cheeses. In Italy, it is a meal with its own unique personality: you pay for a drink—slightly more expensive than usual—and in exchange, you are served food alongside it. There are two types:

TRADITIONAL APERITIVO

Your drink comes accompanied by olives, chips, nuts, and a board of cold cuts and cheeses.

APERICENA

In practice, it replaces dinner and features an all-you-can-eat buffet or large boards with cold pasta, focaccia, salad, and mini pizzas

PREMIERE

Today, Sunday, we are premiering this new format together: l’aperitivo. This past week, I was on the verge of crossing the line from enjoying creating to suffering while publishing. Time just flew by while sending out CVs, personalized portfolios, and cover letters, working on LFB in between but not quite managing to finish it the way I like. This happens to me a lot, but dear croissant, I would never do that to you. Living For Breakfast is the best part of my job, the one I love the most and enjoy sharing the most.

So, I thought about creating this bite-sized format where I show you what's coming next, like a forecast. This will also help me take a break from highly creative periods, like the latest issues of the magazine, which I am very happy with but required a huge effort.

AUTOFICTION

The title of Almodóvar's latest film pushed me to the cinema to watch it twice, and even to write a short story about this narrative of real characters and doubles—but, in my fiction, illustrated and set in the streets of Paris.

LIFE IS MANY CHALLENGES AT THE TIME
